ITINERARY DETAILS
DAY 1
Milan
Benvenuti a Milano! Your driver will meet you at the arrival gate of Milan Malpensa airport and take you to your hotel of choice in the city center. Use this day to get acquainted with this vibrant city and ask your Travelive specialist for their favorite restaurants so you can start your visit with a fabulous meal!
DAY 2
Milan city tour
Meet your professional English-speaking guide at the hotel and embark on a private tour of Milan city center. Soak up the atmosphere and discover the history of a metropolis that has not stopped growing and evolving since the Middle Ages. Explore the grandeur of the main attractions such as the majestic Duomo and Sforza Castle, and optionally let us add a 15-minute visit to Leonardo da Vinci’s Last Supper. As the day turns to night, enjoy a relaxing evening at your hotel, or follow us to the Navigli neighborhood for an aperitivo experience.
DAY 3
Day trip to Lake Como
No visit to this part of Italy would be complete without a day trip to Lake Como. After breakfast, you will meet your driver at the hotel and start your scenic ride to one of the most picturesque locations in Italy – Lake Como. Discover the world-famous villages of Como and Bellagio, stroll along one of the most beautiful promenades on the lake in Varena, learn about the historical personalities that lived around the lake, and revel in the lavish villas that are scattered at the lakeside.
DAY 4
Venice
Your next destination will be Venice, and you will head to the city by private transfer or by high-speed train after breakfast. If you opt for a private car transfer, ask your Travelive specialist to add a stop for lunch and a guided visit to Lake Garda. Once in Venice, check into your hotel of choice and use this first day to take a relaxing stroll through the calles of the Floating City.
DAY 5
Venice tour and gondola ride
After meeting your guide at the hotel, start your walking tour of this romantic Italian city. Take a glimpse of St. Mark’s Basilica (entrance fees on request) and the Doge’s Palace, walk along Ponte di Rialto, and at the end of the tour enjoy a 30-minute gondola ride. Optionally, if you are looking for a highly customized experience, after the walking tour jump on a motorboat for a tour of Canal Grande followed by dinner in a special location.
DAY 6
Day trip to Verona or the Dolomites
Ready for a complete change of scenery? Replace the canals of Venice with breathtaking mountain views with a day trip to the Dolomites filled with nature and memorable hiking trails. Alternatively, you can opt for a day trip to Verona, famous as the setting of one of Shakespeare’s most loved plays, Romeo & Juliet. See Juliet’s balcony, hear the stories of thousands of love letters left around Juliet’s house, and soak up the history of this proud Italian city.
DAY 7
Rovinj
Today you will be transferred from Venice to Rovinj, first with a water taxi to Piazzale Roma, and then with a private car to your hotel of choice in Rovinj. During your car transfer, you can opt for a stop in Trieste for a visit to Miramare Castle and a lovely lunch at a Michelin-star restaurant. Once you check into the hotel, spend the afternoon at leisure and ask your Travelive specialist for dinner recommendations.
DAY 8
Full-day tour of Istria
Experience the unique landscapes and landmarks of Istria during this full-day tour. After meeting your driver at the hotel, you will head to Pula, the largest town on the Istrian peninsula with a history spanning over 3,000 years. After the seaside city of Pula, it is time to discover the Istrian rolling hills, and the best way to experience this romantic landscape is by visiting Motovun. This captivating walled town is perched on a 277m hill in the lush Mirna River valley and its lost-in-time views over the verdant valley, are reminiscent of a fairytale illustration.
DAY 9
Brijuni National Park
Starting from Rovinj, discover the beauty of Brijuni National Park. A lesser-known area in Northern Croatia, this beautiful park offers a small archipelago of pristine islands, plenty of Ancient Roman sites, exotic animals that you can see during an island safari, crystal-clear waters, and definite bragging rights since the photos from the islands are sure to grab everyone’s attention.
DAY 10
Zagreb
After meeting your private driver at the hotel, you will start your journey from Rovinj to Zagreb. During the transfer, optionally add a stop in Rijeka and Opatija for lunch and time at leisure. Once in Zagreb, check into your hotel of choice and take a first stroll in the center of this wonderful East European capital town.
DAY 11
Zagreb city tour and Trakoscan Castle
Discover the secrets and the history of Zagreb with the help of your professional English-speaking guide. You will then join your guide and driver for a short drive to Trakoscan, a beautiful and serene destination with manicured gardens, a lake, and a fairytale castle that is one of the best-preserved historic buildings in Croatia.
DAY 12
Day at leisure or excursion to Slovenia
Enjoy this last day in Croatia or opt for one more exciting adventure – a day trip to Slovenia and some of its most iconic sites. Just a 2-hour scenic drive from Zagreb you will find the postcard-worthy lake Bled, nestled between the Julian Alps and lush forests. The lake surrounds Bled Island, and a boat will be waiting to take you across. Once your camera is filled with photos, you will continue your Slovenian adventure in the country’s capital – Ljubljana. Explore the city’s vibrant center, take a walk by the Ljubljanica River, or visit Ljubljana castle before your journey back to Zagreb.
DAY 13
Departure day
After check-out, a driver will be waiting to take you to Zagreb International Airport for your flight home.
