DAY 2

Magical Kvarner Tour

If you imagine the perfect combination of sea-and-islands panoramas and mountainous landscapes you will perfectly describe the region of Kvarner. This area is also the perfect blend of Croatian culture, architecture, and natural beauty. Today’s tour will allow you to experience some of the most iconic destinations in the region, Opatija, Rijeka, and Island Krk. Your first destination of the day will be the scenic town of Opatija or Monte Carlo of the Adriatic. This city was the first climatic seaside resort on the Adriatic Sea, and it was frequently visited by crowned heads and celebrities. It will captivate you with its carefully designed parks, vibrant promenade and beautiful villas, and fountains. You will then continue to Rijeka, renowned for its glittering coastline, Hapsburg grandeur, and an enviable Adriatic lifestyle. See the City Clock Tower, Adamić palace, St. Vitus Cathedral, or take the 561 steps toward the Trsat castle where you can revel in the 360 views of the whole city. Finally, complete your exploration of Kvarner with a visit to Krk, Croatia’s largest island, and discover its charming villages and quaint seaside towns such as Vrbnik, Krk, and Baska.

DAY 3

Truffle Hunting and Cooking Class in Motovun

This excursion gives you the unique opportunity to get acquainted with the Istrian peninsula and its stunningly diverse landscape. After meeting your English-speaking driver at the lobby of your hotel, you will start your Istrian adventure with a real truffle hunt below the charming town of Motovun, a dreamy medieval stone-walled town perched on a picturesque hill with the fruitful river Mirna valley underneath it. A professional English-speaking guide will share tips and tricks on how to find these precious items praised by foodies all over the world. After your hunt, you will be able to taste various truffle products and local olive oil, paired with renowned local wines and a cooking lesson after which you will enjoy a light lunch freshly prepared before your eyes. Your next stop will be Motovun, where you will wander through winding cobblestone streets, explore charming cafes, artisan shops, and art galleries that enrich this unique hilltop town.

DAY 4

Day at Leisure

This is the day for well-deserved me-time. Indulge in a relaxing SPA treatment, soak up the sun by the pool or the beach, explore the surroundings, or take a leisurely walk down to Rovinj old town.

DAY 5

Istrian Wine Tasting on an Exclusive Estate

Since the early 19th century, this hidden rural estate in Southern Istria surrounded by lush greenery and dark red soil has been considered one of the beautiful mansions in the Mediterranean. Once a refuge for Austro-Hungarian army officers is now a luxury wine hotel and winery, producing some of the most renowned wines in the area. Tour the estate to learn more about the cultivation of autochthonous grape varieties, hand-pruning methods, and contemporary technologies used in the production of wines to reflect the uniqueness of Istria. Finally, reward your taste buds with a full wine tasting that includes 7 wines and a sampling of local delicacies.

DAY 6

Rovinj to Zagreb

After breakfast and check-out, your driver will be waiting to take you to Zagreb, the capital of Croatia. Once you reach your centrally located hotel, you will have the rest of the afternoon at your disposal so feel free to ask your travel advisor for their favorite restaurants, cafes, and nightspots in the city.

DAY 7

Cross over to Slovenia and Visit Lake Bled and Ljubljana

Today is the perfect day to visit neighboring Slovenia and some of its most iconic destinations with a driver and car at your disposal. Just a 2-hour scenic drive from Zagreb you will find the postcard-worthy lake Bled, nestled between the Julian Alps and lush forests. The lake surrounds Bled Island, and a boat will be waiting to take you across. The island has several prominent buildings, and your boat will dock near the pilgrimage church dedicated to the Assumption of Mary. Built near the end of the 17th century, decorated with remains of Gothic frescos from 1470 in the presbyterium and rich Baroque equipment. The church has a 52 m tower and there is a Baroque stairway from 1655 with 99 stone steps leading up to the top of the island, presenting you with stunning panoramic views. The legend says whoever rings the bell in the tower will have their wish come true, so make sure you include some bell ringing on your to-do list. Once your camera is filled with photos, you will continue your Slovenian adventure in the country’s capital – Ljubljana. This mid-sized European city has preserved its small-town friendliness and relaxed atmosphere while providing all the facilities of a modern capital. Explore the city’s vibrant center, take a walk by the Ljubljanica river or visit Ljubljana castle before your journey back to Zagreb.

DAY 8
