About
Greece
Greece is much more than what we are taught at school or the predictable
summer image of glorious sunsets and sandy beaches.
In
Greece, you are standing at a crossroads of cultures, colors and
civilizations, you feel the strength of history and the warmth of being
in the southernmost part of Europe, you discover an evolutionary process
of thought, influence and experience.
A
country that despite being rich in history has a population that moves towards
the future.
A
country that although statistically small, is huge in its diversity.
A
landscape that has given us thousands of postcard images but remains
incredibly vibrant and impossible to capture.
Greece
is a country of beautiful contradictions, a constant journey in time,
from the present to the past and back again.
Walk
through the olive groves, through ancient sites. Move to clusters of
sparsely inhabited islands. Roam from the beaches to rocky mountains and
explore breathtaking scenery.
In
Greece the fusion of images becomes more than imagery and turns into
reality.
Live
your myth in Greece
Where
to Go and What to See
With
well over a hundred inhabited islands and a territory that stretches
from the south Aegean to the Balkan countries, Greece offers enough to
fill months of travel. The historic sites span four millennia,
encompassing both the legendary and the obscure, where a visit can still
seem like a personal discovery. Beaches are parceled out along a
convoluted coastline equal to France's in length, and islands range from
backwaters where the boat calls twice a week to resorts as cosmopolitan
as any in the Mediterranean.
The
most popular destinations in Greece are Athens, Santorini, Mykonos and
Crete.
Our
specialists will work with you to create an itinerary that meets your
preferences and budget.
Travel
and Visa Requirements
Greece
is most easily reached by international air to Athens. Domestic
flights and ferry service is available for the islands. Train and
bus service, as well as rental car options, are available for travel
within the Greek mainland.
A
valid passport is required for US and Canadian citizens to travel to
Greece. A visa is not required for stays up to 90 days.
When
to Go
May
through October are the best months to travel to Greece.
Orthodox Easter is a very beautiful and colorful time to visit Greece.
Winters
in Greece are quite mild. Athens and the mainland have great city
life to explore in the winter months.
