> DAY 1: Delhi
Welcome to India’s capital city of Delhi! At the airport you will be greeted and escorted to your hotel. Enjoy the rest of your day at leisure.
> DAY 2: Delhi
After breakfast start your tour of Old and New Delhi. Start in Old Delhi, exploring the Red Fort, Raj Ghat and the mile-long Chandni Chowk Bazaar. Continue your tour to New Delhi as you drive along Raj path to view the Parliament House, the President’s House and India Gate. Visit the Humayun’s Tomb, Qutab Minar and Birla Temple. (B)
> DAY 3: Delhi, Varanasi
In the morning you will be transferred to the airport for your flight to Varanasi. Varanasi, India’s holiest city, is located on the sacred Ganges River. Upon arrival, you will be met and transferred to your hotel. In the afternoon visit the stupas, ruins and museum at Sarnath, scene of Buddha’s first sermon. (B)
> DAY 4: Varanasi, Khajuraho
In the early morning enjoy the sunrise on the Ganges River with a boat ride followed by a walking tour of the old city. Later in the day you will fly to Khajuraho, capital of the 9th to 13th century Chandela Dynasty. Upon arrival you are met and transferred to your hotel. İn the afternoon, visit the Western group of temples containing the largest and most beautiful temples in the area, including Kandariya Mahadev (representing Chandela art at its best). (B)
> DAY 5: Khajuraho, Agra
This morning you will visit the principal Eastern group of temples, modest and less ornate than the Western group. These temples reflect the simplicity inherent in Jainism. Later, you will be transfered to Jhansi where you will board the train to Agra. En route you will stop for a tour of Orcha, a medieval city frozen in time and space, existing to this day as it must have in the 17th century. Upon arrival in Agra you will be met and transferred to your hotel. (B)
> DAY 6: Agra
Start your day with a sunrise visit to the incomparable Taj Mahal, an extravagant marble monument to love. The Moghul Emperor Shah Jahan built it as a memorial to his beloved wife, who died during childbirth. To add to this memorable experience, during your visit you will also travel by tongas (horse carriage). In the afternoon explore the Agra Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Built by the Moghul Emperor Akbar, this impressive fortress of red sandstone concealed the imperial city of the Moghul rulers and its many palaces. (B)
> DAY 7: Agra, Ranthambore National Park
Take a short drive to Bharatpur, where you will board a train headed south to Ranthambore National Park. This renowned park is home to Sambar deer, Sloth bears, marsh crocodiles, and more. This afternoon’s game drive is your first chance to glimpse the park’s wildlife, including its most famous resident—the elusive tiger! (B)
> DAY 8: Ranthambore National Park
Today, you will enjoy two amazing game drives. The first will be at dawn when animals are most active. Enjoy free time during the day to relax at your hotel before your second game drive in the late afternoon. (B)
> DAY 9: Ranthambore National Park, Jaipur
This morning, enjoy one last game drive or simply relax at the hotel before transferring to Jaipur, the “Pink City.” When you arrive you will check in to your hotel and enjoy a leisurely afternoon. (B)
> DAY 10: Jaipur
After breakfast, tour the mountain fortress of Amber, riding royally atop regally painted and decorated elephants. Later, you will explore Jaipur City, visiting Hawa Mahal, or the “Palace of Winds,” City Palace and the ancient observatory. (B)
> DAY 11: Jaipur, Jodhpur
Today you will be transferred to Jodhpur. In the afternoon, check into your hotel and enjoy the rest of your day at leisure. (B)
> DAY 12: Jodhpur, Ranakpur, Udaipur
In the morning you will visit the invincible Mehrangarh Fort and the Jaswant Thada, a graceful marble cenotaph built in 1899. After your tour you will depart for Udaipur, stopping en route to explore the beautifully sculpted 15th century Jain temples of Ranakpur. Continue your journey, stopping for lunch at Maharani Bagh—a mango grove and private gardens of the Maharajah of Jodhpur. In the late afternoon, arrive in Udaipur and check into your hotel. (B)
> DAY 13: Udaipur
Today you will tour this famous “City of Lakes.” Visit City Palace, with its scalloped arches, fretted balconies and cupolas, Saheliyon ki Bari Garden and the folklore museum, where you can see a presentation of the string puppets typical to this area. (B)
> DAY 14: Departure
After breakfast you will be transferred to the airport and fly to Delhi where you will meet to your flight home.
